The European Polytechnical University inaugurated a laboratory of Robotics on 27 November 2015 headed by Assoc. Prof. Nayden Shivarov, PhD.
The opening took place during the European Robotics Week, which aims to show the role and application of robotics in all life areas and to encourage the younger generation to careers in science.
Among the speakers at the opening, clearly distinguished was the name of one of the founders of robotics in Bulgaria - acad. Nedko Shivarov, who has created the first school robot- ROBCO 01.
The opening ceremony was attended by Dr. Ventsislav Slavkov - Chairman of the Board of Cluster Mechatronics and Automation, eng. Nedelcho Devetakov and eng. Margarita Alexandrova from VC "Convert".
Students and teachers from the School of Natural Sciences and Mathematics “Hristo Smirnenski”, town of Pernik observed demonstrations of different types of robots.
Assoc Prof. Shivarov’s ambition is to make the European Polytechnical University – Balkan Center of Robotics Development
